I would have given 5 stars because access and security were excellent, and the employees are phenomenal!!! However, when a roof leak forced me to move units, I feel Storage Sense could have at the very least reimbursed my $200 moving expense. That experience left a mark.

This storage unit establishment will simply “nickel and dime you to death”, raising your monthly rent, every three or for months. This company is money hungry and very greedy, from my experience of renting from them for 14 years. After their last rate increase, I tried to negotiate with the company, and no one from company management would talk about any negotiated lower monthly rental rate. So the heck with them, I moved out of my rental unit for a better, lower option. 😄

I have been waiting on a refund from the company for insurance that I was told to pay for 3 months in advance then when I showed proof of already being covered I was told they couldn’t do anything about the first month even though this was within 24 hours of obtaining the unit. And on top of that the absolutely amazing Terry who works her butt off there insisted to pay me out of her very own pocket for the first month and the company made no effort to be helpful and step in. I’ve been waiting over 90 days on a refund for the other 2 months and have called about it 3 times and also once in person at the office. Terry is what makes this place great but aside from her it feels cold and unwelcoming.I really wish I would have had a different experience but I had to empty my unit and sever ties with this company. When scheduling a move out date I was told I would hear back about the refund and that my move out date was set for the 25th. Just got a call today being told I would be penalized if I moved out after my billing due date and that the office was never told by corporate about my scheduled move out date. Absolutely disgraceful.

The location and unit were both very clean and had excellent security. When I moved out over the weekend, staff called me first thing Monday morning to let me know that the lock was gone and my unit was empty. It was very nice to know that had anything happened, it would have been seen and addressed in a timely manner. Security was excellent there, with cameras inside of the unit buildings and pass codes for the gates and buildings. I will definitely be returning to this location should I require storage in the future.

I wish there was an option to wave the protection plan/insurance and I don’t like the specific lock policy that results in a $250 charge if anything happens to the renters property. However, the administration fee was well worth it when I needed assistance on a Sunday afternoon and an associate answered on the second ring.

Ms. TOVA is a delight. Super helpful and makes the entire experience stress-free. The units are well kept and clean. The temp controlled unit are nice a cold so nothing will be damaged. Their security measures make me feel like my stuff is safe in the care. We used them in 2016. Because of that great experience we are using them again right now. I highly recommend.

I had an issue with billing ..I used their "contact info "online ..Never received a response. I tried using their " online chat "and that response was good..She said a District Manager would be contacting me .He did not contact me , instead sent it back to Store Manager who had not responded to my emails .It was a complicated issue and the District Manager did not even show me the courtesy of a call back or email as promised ..The rates went up drastically a few months prior and though they said I'd recieved an email , I did not ..I would not recommend Storage Sense of Lexington,S.C.to anyone ..It's been a horrible experience and I hope you avoid it .
