Does renting storage units require rental protection?
Yes, we do require insurance when you rent a storage unit. You can either provide proof of your own insurance as you are checking out, or you can purchase one of our many insurance plans. We currently offer a few different options, so you are able to choose the best for your situation. Ask our storage experts which plan would be best for you.
Are locks provided/sold on site?
Yes, our storage facilities sell storage supplies – including storage unit locks – on premise. At Storage Sense, our offices sell a variety of packing and moving supplies, including boxes, packing tape, furniture covers, box cutters and more!
How do I pay my bill online?
Navigate to the top of our website, and click on the icon labeled “Pay Bill”. From there, login and click on the storage unit in your account that you wish to pay the bill for. Additionally, you can also choose to prepay for your upcoming month’s bill.
How do I reach someone after hours?
If you have an urgent issue after business hours, please call the appropriate Storage Sense location and press 1 to speak with a representative. Additionally, there is a chat button on the website that can support you.
Can I rent short-term?
Yes, Storage Sense offers convenient month-by-month storage leases to allow for flexible rental space. You will never be stuck in a long contract. Rent for a month, a few months, or find your long-term storage solution with us.
What discounts do you offer?
Currently, our storage facilities offer a variety of storage discounts. Customers ages 65+ are eligible for our Senior Discount, 5% off your monthly bill. Active duty military members can receive 10% off monthly. Thank you for your service! Additionally, when you refer a friend, you and your friend both receive $50 off your next storage rental. Do I need to sign a long-term lease to receive a discount?
No, all of our facilities offer month-to-month leases, which means you can move out whenever you choose, even if you are in the middle of a discount period. For example, if you have an offer for 50% off three months but no longer need your unit after the first month, you are free to move out with no penalty.
Do you have movers?
No, currently our storage facilities do not offer any sort of moving service. However, we list our Neighborhood Friends at the bottom of each Storage Sense rental page, so our tenants can find local assistance with trusted businesses. Search through our Neighborhood Friends list to find movers within your area.
Do you have truck rentals?
Truck rental arrangements vary from location to location. Check with your particular Storage Sense location to see if truck rental options are available.
Do you have storage auctions?
Yes, our storage facilities do hold storage auctions. Auctions of storage units occur after fulfilling the state lien law procedure of someone who has not made a payment on their unit. Storage auctions aren’t our favorite side of the business, but they are a necessary part of it. Storage auctions will be held online at Lockerfox.com, or StorageAuctions.com (depending on the storage facility). Simply visit either site, and entire the zip code of one our Storage Sense facilities to check-in on any of our current storage auctions.
Can I live or sleep in a storage unit?
No, and we strongly discourage it. Living in a storage unit is prohibited by various local and federal housing laws. Additionally, living in a storage unit is extremely unsafe. Storage unit doors lock from the outside and do not have running water to support a residence.
What storage unit size do I need?
Storage Sense offers a variety of storage unit sizes to meet any renter’s needs. Depending on the amount of items you are looking to store, how long you are looking to store, and what you are trying to store, different storage unit sizes might serve you better. Our online storage calculator can give you a storage unit size recommendation based on the objects you enter. Simply input any items you plan on placing in your storage unit, and this convenient calculator will provide you with an estimate as to how much storage space you will need. Use this estimate as a reference to selecting your correct storage unit.
When I rent online, can I access my storage unit right away?
Yes. When you rent a storage unit through our contactless storage rentals, you are able to access your storage unit immediately once you receive your confirmation email. The online rental process lets you choose your storage unit and pay for it within minutes – it’s that simple. Once the transaction is completed, you can move into your storage unit right away.
Can I access my storage unit at any time?
No, but our storage facilities do offer gate access outside of normal business hours. Please check the each Storage Sense location for its access hours.
