St. Mary Catholic Church in Wayne Michigan saw a need for an outreach center that would help those struggling. They located a building that would suffice a food pantry and clothing store, renovated it and opened their doors to the public. On September 3rd 2003 our community changed for the better with an organization like this. The Food Depot is a drop off location for food and a grocery store when families fall on hard times. “Sharing is loving,” their motto which inspires volunteers and community members to give.
With the winter winds blowing, it is more important than ever to have the proper attire outside. The Open Closet at St. Mary’s has a large selection of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. All these articles of clothing are gently used or new. Since the organization receives monetary donations they can provide people with new clothing.
