Enjoying the season with friends and family is what makes this time of year special. Here at Storage Sense we want to help kids that are not fortunate enough to have their wish list answered. With an organization like Toys for Tots we can help youngster all over the country have a great holiday. We are working with them to collect new unwrapped toys that would be a kind thoughtful gift.
The first ever campaign raised 5,000 toys before the Christmas of 1947. This faithful organization was first lead by Major Bill Hendricks. The following year the United States Marine Corps Reserves offically adopted the distribution. Now Marines at every reserve location reach out into the communities to call one and all to help by bringing new unwrapped toys.
Last year the foundation had their second best year by raising $280 million in revenue. With the help of the former First Lady, Michelle Obama, and other government officials the drive saw an large growth.
After the holidays the USMCR is constantly giving back with their literacy program. They donate books to under privileged schools in depressed areas. Through out the country students of all ages have the opportunity to fall in love with reading and the imagination that comes with it.
