Just outside of Philadelphia, in between Glenside and Elkins Park, you will find our little oasis. Here at Storage Sense we love our Wyncote, Pa community. With special events for everyone to enjoy and history to learn, our neighborhood stays connected. We love our community and we hope you do too!
Wyncote sits inside Cheltenham Township which originated in 1784. Our township was the first Philadelphia suburb. William Penn, the original owner, divided Montgomery County up between 15 families. Each family was given a small part of Philadelphia city and a larger portion of Cheltenham township. Over the next 300 years the town limits expanded and became the spot we love today. Our town was purchased by Toby Leech and Richard Wall who are considered the “founding fathers” of Cheltenham township. Leech and Wall were instrumental in bringing new businesses to help start the town. Later the land was passed down to the families, but over many generations the Wall and Leech name was lost.
Here at Storage Sense Wyncote we love most of all the events that our town puts on to bring us all together. On February 18, our town has their annual Maple Sugar Festival. You can watch the process of making maple sugar and get a chance to taste test the syrup with waffles and hot chocolate. This fun filled day is one to put on the calendar and make a special trip over to Wyncote. Another special event is the sweet hearts dance. It is for that time of year when you and your special sweetheart can spend some time together. Show your sweetheart just how much they mean to you. The sweetheart dance is on February 11th and it is open to all those in love, crushing, or just looking for something fun to do with friends.
