Giving is all part of the season and we are doing our part to assist. There are many kids who may not have the Christmas they dreamed of and with a little Christmas magic and charitable acts we can make a difference. Toys for Tots is an organization that gives new toys to children in need. Our office is a drop off location until December 20th.
Through an act of kindness in 1947 a foundation with the mind set of helping others impacted a community. Major Bill Hendricks saw a need and filled the holidays with cheer and giving. Toys for Tots is nationwide with a drop off location at every Marine Corp Reserve Center. Over the years they have been recognized by everyone from the Walt Disney organization to the President of the United States.
The Marines want to be a role model to kids who need one. A toy donated to the organization goes to helping them grow up as productive members of society. With a little care during the holidays, these kids have an opportunity to see the good in their communities. After the toy drive is over, the Marines benefit students with the literacy program. They raise books with many UPS Stores and give them to schools in depressed areas. Books offer a little imagination or vacation from a current situation.
We are proud to be helping this foundation give back this year. Our holiday initiative would not have been a success with out the generosity of everyone who donated. Thank you for your support!
