We also love the community we serve. During the end of the year we choose a charity to sponsor and make a difference. This year we chose The Salvation Army. With the devastation our country saw with the hurricanes after September, the Salvation Army was instrumental in assisting the families that were affected. Since Thanksgiving has passed and the holidays are right around the corner we want to support this generous organizations.

The Salvation Army has locations through out the United States but originally William Booth, the founder, was getting his message of generosity out to the streets of London. As early as 1852 the Salvation Army went to the poor and and homeless with a message of love, kindness and supplies to help. In the late 1800’s, they had over 1,000 volunteers and only 10 full-time workers.

The Salvation Army continued to grow with the help of communities and volunteers. They went by many names when first starting out. From The Halleljuah Army to the Volunteer Army and then finally to The Salvation Army, their mission was always the same. Still following the same mission to do good unto others with a message of love through religion, they have impacted many lives. With our help they will be able to achieve their goal of making our neighborhoods a better place.

Our campaign runs until the 18th of December, but that does not mean the Salvation Army does not need our help all year round. Find easy ways to help your community through this volunteer organization. Thank you to everyone who has selflessly given a gift and aided us in making a child’s Christmas brighter.
